Handmade (f, 3, Candy Ride {Arg}--Hand Crafted, by Mineshaft), sent off at 5-2, drew clear to best favored Samantha Nicole (Medaglia d’Oro), a full-sister to champion Rachel Alexandra, by six lengths at Fair Grounds Sunday. Handmade chased pacesetting Partyinslowmotion (Bernardini) from third, rushed up three wide to take the lead in upper stretch and powered clear with authority. Samantha Nicole, 1-2 in her debut, broke out awkwardly and bumped with the eventual winner before settling at the back of the pack. She darted into contention on the turn, raced greenly in the stretch and was clearly second best in the run to the wire. Partyinslowmotion was third.
