Black Caviar half-brother set for Inglis
Easter

A YEARLING half-brother to star Australian sprint filly Black Caviar will be offered at
April’s Inglis Easter sale.
The colt is by Patinack Farm stallion Casino Prince, a son of Flying Spur who won the Group
1 Chipping Norton Stakes over 1m. He will be consigned by Makybe.
An easy four-length victory for Black Caviar over Star Witness – giving the runner-up 7lbs –
in November’s Patinack Farm Classic meant the four-year-old was given the distinction of
2010’s world champion sprinter by international handicappers.
Black Caviar cemented her superstardom with a three-and-a-quarter length win over Hay List
in the Group 1 Lightning Stakes on Saturday. Timeform Australia have awarded her a rating
of 131, two clear of other recent Australasian turf queens Makybe Diva and Sunline.
Black Caviar is by the Royal Academy stallion Bel Esprit and is the first foal producedby the
unraced Desert Sun mare Helsinge.
Helsinge is out of multiple Group 1-placed sprinter Scandinavia, whose other foals include
top Australian sprinter Magnus, a son of Flying Spur who was third to Miss Andretti in the
2007 King’s Stand Stakes, and Group 2-winning sprinter Wilander.
