Dunaden porte le top-weight dans la Melbourne Cup

Australie, le 5 novembre 2013. le cantilien Dunaden, lauréat de la Melbourne Cup en 2011 portera le top-weight de la plus célèbre course des antipodes. Le pensionnaire de Mikel Delzangles, âgé de 7 ans cette année s’est vu attribuer un poids de 58.5 kg. Red Cadeaux, partenaire de Gérald Mossé dans la Dubai World Cup (2e), dauphin de Dunaden en 2011 reste engagé dans le handicap (labélisé groupe I) le plus richement doté au monde, tout comme Sea Moon, Green Moon, Brown Panther, Joshua Tree, Ahzeemah, Mount Athos. Le favori de l’épreuve Puissance de Lune portera quant à lui 54 kg, le poids que portait Dunaden lors de son triomphe il y a deux ans. Manighar, Brigantin, Verema, Kesampour, Leading Light, Songcraft, Lidari, Meleagros, Hammerfest, Only A Pleasure, Trevières – pour ne citer qu’eux - figurent parmi les restants engagés aux aussi.

Black Caviar est l'objet de tous les hommages, comme le montrent le dvd et la statue qui lui sont dédiés.


« Le cheval d'une vie » : c'est le titre du double dvd consacré à la jument australienne, et qui sortira le 7 octobre prochain en Océanie. Un premier événement avant la réalisation d'une statue en bronze à l'effigie de la championne et de son jockey fétiche Luke Nolen.

‘Black Caviar – The horse of a lifetime’, produced with TVN and Racing Victoria, will be on sale from Black Caviar's website, and retailers from Monday (7 October).

The hour-long DVD features every one of Black Caviar’s 25 wins with commentary from trainer Peter Moody and jockey Luke Nolen, and offers an incredible inside look at her journey until retirement in April 2013, including the build-up to Royal Ascot.
